Agentic framework. Being assessed against an Anthropic API-first approach for the five engineering agents defined in this stack (Code Review, Compliance, Documentation, Ops, ML Validation). LangChain provides higher-level abstractions for chain composition and tool use, but at the cost of an additional abstraction layer that may obscure the trust zone boundaries critical in a regulated context.
Assess before committing. The key question: does the abstraction add value, or does it make it harder to reason about what agents are permitted to do? See Layer 14 (AI Engineering Strategy).
